Pet Sitting NZ is lifting the standard of pet care across Aotearoa. Verified members are ID, criminal record and reference checked. Committed members sign the NZ Pet Care Code of Conduct, a shared standard built on New Zealand animal welfare law, and verified members also agree to our Terms: one nominated sitter, a meet and greet before every new sit, and a written service agreement. Recognised members display their PSNZ badge, and verified members are listed in our directory. Pet care planned around your pet, not left to chance.

Why use a PSNZ Sitter?
Every sitter in our directory is verified. Their ID, criminal record and references have been checked, and they’ve signed the NZ Pet Care Code of Conduct, a shared standard built on New Zealand animal welfare law.
Before every new sit, they meet you and your pet to learn what your animal needs, and they work from a written service agreement that confirms your routines, vet details and emergency contacts. One nominated sitter is responsible for your pet and your home, from the first visit to the last.
Our goal is to help pet families find a reliable sitter they can build a relationship with and call on again and again. Start with a meet and greet, and your pet gets to know a familiar face who returns for each sit, which helps them feel settled.

ABout PSNZ
PSNZ began on Facebook. Back in 2016, a Cantabrian pet sitter, covered in paw prints and pet fur, started a community group to connect with pet parents and other pet carers. Today we’re a nationwide community of over 20,000, and we’re still New Zealand owned and run. Our mission is to lift the standard of pet care across Aotearoa. The NZ Pet Care Code of Conduct sets that standard, built on New Zealand animal welfare law.
